Jang Yoon-jeong, Miss Korea 1987 and the first runner-up for Miss Universe in 1988 nabbed top place on the nation's No.1 search engine Naver's most searched keywords list.
Monday's news that the 24-year-old Lee Honey, Miss Korea 2006, finished third runner-up at the 2007 Miss Universe beauty pageant in Mexico drew public attention to former Miss Korea Jang who recorded Korea's best finish at the Miss Universe pageant by finishing first runner-up in the 1988 contest. Jang became very popular by hosting various television entertainment shows and as a model but disappeared from the entertainment scene when she got married. Lee, who marked Korea's second-best finish in the contest, was fifth on the search list.
Second place was taken by Jang Chae-won, a transsexual who appeared on the SBS' entertainment show "Truth Game" last Tuesday. It is the second time for Jang to be in the spotlight since appearing on the same program before the sex-change operation three years ago, dressed as woman.
