I must say, Scarlett Johansson is one of those celebrity chicks I just totally don't get. I'm like, a horny guy, but I look and look at Scarlett and she does absolutely nothing for me. Anyone see Scarlett Johannsen on the Daily Show or any other interview? I've also read a print interview in Esquire. She seems like an airhead, i.e. not a lot upstairs. That hardly makes her unique in terms of hollywood bombshells down through the ages, but I guess I'd always assumed that someone who got into the movie biz through indie films, like Manny & Lo, Ghost Story, etc., would have more on the ball. In the end, I guess Woody Allen really did cast her as herself in Vicki Christie Barcelona.

While I have not seen all of her interviews, I must say there was one in particular I was incredibly impressed by. In a panel discussion for the Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. had been asked some existential crisis question regarding portraying his character. Following that question, Scarlett was asked if she only ate salad in order to fit into her outfit. She eloquently dissected the nature of questions addressed to her as opposed to her co-stars. Her response was so well articulated, cutting, and to the point, I can't help but offer as a rebuttal that she is, in fact, quite intelligent and that perhaps the airhead image is the act because it's what fans and Hollywood expect of her. There is the person and then there is the celebrity, and as they are actors, perhaps they are better at creating celebrity persona than we give them credit for.

Or maybe not, just food for thought.

I really love this discussion and personally I have to say Portman, cause anyone who has seen Natalie's rap knows P is for pussy, P is for Portman!
