Each of these two pieces is three feet wide and a little over four feet tall. A friend of mine wanted to sell his Manhattan apartment – but didn't want to pay $70K plus to a broker. I told him I could do it in three weeks or less if he would give me these two pieces. He agreed, and I was able to find a buyer in a little over a week. They've been on the living room wall of my NYC flat ever since.

P.S. Sorry for the ridiculous size. It's the default for my camera, and I don't know how in the hell to reset it (it's new).

It sounds like you're doing okay for yourself Quinn. Interesting art. I'm an artist, so I can appreciate work like this.

Thanks, Kabuki. That's great that you're an artist. I've always admired the ability of others to create this type, or any type, of art. Unfortunately, despite my passion for art, I lack any discernable skill in creating it (it wasn't pretty).

Here’s a print that was bought at yard sale some 25 years ago. The story behind this one is interesting. This old, out of production print has been the sole focus of three different legal battles within my extended family. Amazingly, it isn’t valuable and is only worth a small fraction of what has been paid in legal fees to determine its ownership – despite the intense sentimental attachment we all have to it. Strangest of all, not one member of my extended family knows who the original artist was or what the original work was even called, even though considerable research has been applied to that end.

Bottom line: It's mine now and is, by far, the favored piece in my collection. For some reason, since my early childhood, I have identified with the brooding figure in that chair.

I reckon it's all of the above.

Ahh, yes. A subject that is near and dear to my heart.

My favorite painters of all-time are the late 19th-early 20th Century California plein-air/Impressionists, such as Hanson Puthuff, Guy Rose, Elmer and Marion Wachtel, Franz Bischoff, Benjamin Brown, Maurice Braun, and Theodore Lukits. Running a close second are contemporary Impressionist/plein air painters like Peter Adams, John Asaro, Michael Godfrey, John Ebersberger, Paula V. Bacinski, Denise Burns, Gregory Hull, and Kevin MacPherson.

Also, I dig some Old Masters like Jan Van Eyck and Rembrandt, and several 20th Century visionaries as Ernst Fuchs, Abdul Mati Klarwein, and Rick Griffin.

I myself am an artist, and my work is closer to the Impressionist/plein air painters' example.

What impresses me most about M C Escher apart from the actual images is the fact that most of his work is printed from a wooden carving he carved in reverse..!!

Here's art from my favorite artist, David Mack. I couldn't find all my favorite pieces from him, but the art here isn't disappointing.

He's actually a comic book artist that help non-traditional artists get recognized in the comic book industry. His work is usually a mix of mediums. He's known for his independent series Kabuki, and now he works all over the industry, and in different markets. Creating art for Tori Amos, and various corporate entities.
