Or The Definition of True Love?

What's your take on it?

How does it come to be?

The definition of true love is being able to put up with someone 24x7 without murdering them.

Really!! That's it.

It's when your chest is heavy and your heart is aching and burning, your whole body is tense and weak and you need relief badly.

Hold on, that could be indigestion...

Love is never having to say you're sorry. No, wait, that's a line from a film.

To be honest, I think it's when you love someone so much, you don't care whether they love you back or not. It's when nothing makes you happier than seeing that other person smile. It's when all you want is for that person to be well and happy, even if you're apart.

True love is patient and kind and giving. It's selfless and willing to accept and forgive. And it can take many forms and can be expressed in many ways. It is also very rare.

That's what I think.

it's so simple it's complicated.
love starts with loving yourself, you can't love anyone until you love yourself.

that being said i am a constant faliure at it.

nice question, i hope i gave a decent answer or at least a nice hallmark one.

I think the quote was "You can't just love the white part of the bread! You got to love the crust of a motherfucka!" I think that's basically it.

True love is when there are no barriers at all between you and you can happily take a shit while your partner stands at the sink next to you brushing her teeth. Love is what happens when all the romance is used up.

Love is giving for the sake of giving, not for expecting something in return. Love is expressing it, for the sake of expressing it. Love is not a possession, love is something you share. It is not jealousy, that is a form of fear. You want to share with others, the treasure you have found.

I'm a spiritual person. I now see love as this great thing which expresses itself in infinite ways. At my stage in life, I have attended a lot funerals. I came to the realization that at every funeral the main topic about the person, is what they loved. So I came to the conclusion is that love is the main thing you will leave behind for other people to remember. So try expressing some form of love. We all have it.

Lastly, love is not sex. But love can be expressed through sex. But if the person feels that they can only express love through sex, it is not really love. Because love can be expressed in infinite ways. It is also exactly what everyone else in the thread has said.

I'd go with Robert Heinlein's definition- when another persons happiness mean more to you than does you own.

Sorry to hear that. I know how it feels.

But I hope you find Mr Right, eventually. A European perhaps? :D

I don't think there are words that can describe what true love is but for this board I will try. True love first of all is unconditonal (so for some guys on here who like tgirls that means loving them whether they are pre or post op). It is be able to always put your partner needs before yours, realizing that if they or not happy you can't be happy. True love is having your parnter be the first thing on your mind when you wake up and the last thing before you go to bed.

True love is beautiful and its something that the world needs more of.

For me? It's usually whenever a nice, emotionally stable and pretty woman becomes a steady lover. I'm a sucka.

However, very few women who are all three seem to want to. I don't get it, the ones that did seemed to like me fine. I think it's because 85% of my brain's activities center around music, so with a woman, I show no guile. If I like them, it's plain. Women seem to like guys who don't give a shit. I'm more like," Wanna hang out?"

At this point, my honest attitude is that it will either happen when I least expect it, or if I get back into a semi-successful music career. Not that I think women are necessarily gold diggers....but they want an alpha male, and success gives that appearance. Which is probably justifiable from an evolutionary standpoint.

By the way...Holy Shit! I saw The Host, a Korean monster movie last night.
It was fucking great, especially the long monster-first-shows-up scene at a riverside park in Seoul. I even dreamed about it later. See it!

true love is when u look forward to the part after sex as much as the sex itself.... IMO.

I have often taken a girl out, had a great night, got her just drunk enough, brought her home, fucked the beejesus out of her and as soon as the last drop of Irish cream has left my nozzle the only thing i want to do is get the girl outta me house.

when im in love (and i am), i wanna hold that person afterwards, talk to them, make them feel safe, let them tell me how great i was (;) ) and just...'be' with them....

its my definition... it cud be wrong, but there it is.

just an observation, wasn't a judgement.and besides, if you are in ireland you will have difficulty finding a sober woman.
i recall the time a freind was getting off with this girl at ,believe it or not, a 'nurse's ball'. they were vigorously eating eachother's faces when he paused to lean over and vomit. She just waited patiently as my friend spewed for about a minute, then just went back in for more, she didn't even wait for him to wipe the vomit away from his mouth.

Really!! That's it.

You are 100% correct. But it starts with intense physical attraction. Then fantastic sex (at this point many will say.."true love"!) No this is where Allison's hypothsis comes into play. This is the true test. All the bullshit, about making changes for your partner, is pure bullshit. If you are in love no changes are necessary. If changes are necessary, you are in lust. And lust quickly fades as critical analysis increases.

Why are people so hung up on LTR's. If you force or rush them the LT turns to ST or FR (False relationships). Don't look for them, you'll force them. Have fun be yourself, and someday they may fall in your lap.

I think was just a cynical response from dealing with too many married tranny chasers...

You're probably right, and I was being sarcastic anyway. But even so, in a recent post, Jen was saying not to judge TG escorts because I didn't know their backgrounds, and I had to comment on this statement since I find it interesting her "do not judge" policy doesn't apply to guys on this forum. I mean, you can't have it both ways.
