Boris Yeltsin has died at age 76, cause not yet revelaed.

Remember how the world stood still as the new openness of Russia was almost snuffed out with the kidnap of Gorbachev and how Yeltsin jumped pnto a tank menacing the Duma and appealed to citizens and soldiers alike. A John Wayne moment if ever there was one.

He may have become ridiculous later and the alcohol didn't help, but that one moment gets him pasted into the scrap-book of history for me at least.

All true; but it was still a great moment. And would it have been better if the Army had won?

Agreed, further debate on the issue isn't appropriate here. I just posted here for the heads-up.
