the Honda NSX was a good car, all the cheap ones in the Uk are all fucked tho, and im not wanting to spend $100 000 on one thats 2 years old. just doin that calculation from pounds into dollars that means an aston db9 is $300 000 in the us now?? im goin to NYC for my holidays ASAP!!!!

Tail Gunner
04-20-2007, 02:59 AM
Yeah the NSX now is sort of a collectors thing since it's discont. but I got one while they were still in production and it was used so it worked out, also was looking at the DB8, the 9 is way out of my range.

jamesb121
04-20-2007, 03:07 AM
porsches are my weakness, i can see another 911 (964) turbo on the horizon. its the car from the original bad boys film if u cant remember what it looks like!!

ill never drive anything other than a porsche again, that prob sounds really snobby but once you've driven one, ull never want to drive anything else ever again! i love my 968, discribed by stefan roser as the best car they ever made. 04-20-2007, 03:28 AM
hmmmm, not sure about the NSX concept, plus we dont get acura in the uk, so it would just be a plain honda, not quite as sexy is it?? plus in europe i doesnt really have the cachet of a ferrari, maserati or a porsche does it?

jamesb121
04-20-2007, 03:30 AM
the RS will be £30 000 here in the uk. how much is a Range Rover in the US these days???

we're doing alot of talking about cars that many would consider dream cars, although I drive an M3 daily I've had my eyes on this as a daily driver with NYC weather as it has been the last decade I'd love to own this thing

the limited edition Subaru Sti [without that dorky rear wing that makes you feel like a kid in a hot wheels car]

All Impreza WRX STI models are powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.5-liter DOHC Boxer engine producing 293 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 290 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,400 rpm. The Subaru Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing technology helps provide strong torque characteristics throughout the engine’s operating range. A manually operated water spray feature helps to bolster intercooler efficiency during spirited driving.

All WRX STI models are exclusively equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission that features carbon-plated double-cone synchronizers on 4th, 5th and 6th gears to help ensure durability.

to be honest I wasn't really impressed until this kid with a regular Sti and a blow off valve going "whispppppppppppppp] every shift kept up with my little cousin on the LIE a few months back, he drives a CLK 55

Subaru Impreza WRX STI RB320
Subaru Press Release

Subaru Impreza WRX STI RB320Subaru has announced a new special edition Impreza WRX STI in memory of rally hero Richard Burns who died in November last year of cancer.

Called the RB320, the new car features around £6,000 worth of extra equipment including the 320 PS Prodrive Performance Pack, yet costs £29,995 on road - an increase of only £3,500.

Available only in Obsidian Black, the RB320 features bespoke 18 inch alloy wheels and specially developed Prodrive suspension comprising Bilstein dampers, a sports spring kit with revised rear anti roll bar and a ride height lowered by 30 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear.

Also standard on the RB320 are a chrome mesh front grille, front lip spoiler, quickshift gearchange, side sill plates and RB320 branded gear knob, carpet mats and exclusive exterior badging. Each owner will also receive an individually numbered black alloy tax disc holder.

The PPP boosts power to 320 PS (235 kW) at 6,000 rpm with torque leaping to 332 lb ft (449 Nm) at 3,700 rpm. This reduces the 0-100 km/h time to 4.9 seconds with a 0-160 km/h time of 12.2 seconds.

And as a further incentive, those customers placing early orders with deposits will be offered a limited number of places at a special RB320 launch event next March at Prodrive’s test track in Warwickshire, England.

Not only will RB320 fans take delivery of their cars at the circuit but will be able to drive demonstration STIs around the track and meet rally celebrities.

In addition, customers will also be able to register online and reserve the limited edition number of their choice via a special sub-section of Subaru’s website.

Finally, the first car is to be given away in a special raffle organised by Autosport magazine, donated by Subaru (UK) Limited.

The proceeds will go to the Richard Burns Foundation which helps those suffering from serious injury and illness.

Subaru rally ace, Richard Burns - holder of the FIA World Rally Championship driver’s title - died in November 2005 of brain cancer at the age of 32.

I like my F-350. It is a work truck, but I like it. It is a 2001, with a 7.3 l powerstroke. I put a banks stinger plus kit on it and a PAC brake, plus new springs and a pipe rack and fuel tank and tool box. You can see it in my avatar. I am thinking about getting a new one ton cab and chassis, or an F-550, but Ford is having lots of trouble with their new diesels and dodge might not be a company anymore.

As far as spiffy cars, i would like to get a jag, but instead i keep buying bulldozers and trackhoes. More realistically i would like an outback or forester.

More realistically i would like an outback or forester.

Import this Forester.

Subaru Forester Sports 2.5 XT Concept

What's special about it?
The award for the longest, most awkward concept car name in history goes to Subaru with its rollout of the Subaru Forester Sports 2.5 XT concept (whew!). Based on the — brace yourself, here it comes again — Forester Sports 2.5 XT, also introduced at SEMA, the concept car adds hot rod parts from the company's STI and SPT divisions to beef up the Forester's performance even further.

By eliminating its roof rail crossbars and adding a new front bumper, grille and 17-inch wheels, some of the Forester's more frumpy design elements have been slimmed down on the standard Forester Sports 2.5 XT.

The concept car takes things a bit further and looks undeniably like the Forester STI sold in Japan and Europe. Outside, the concept is visibly lower and has larger 18-inch gold wheels and tires from STI. Huge gold Brembo calipers from the WRX STI are visible through the wheels and there's a lower lip spoiler on the front fascia.

Under the hood the Forester XT's 224-horsepower 2.5-liter turbocharged flat-4 gets an STI intercooler, SPT intake and SPT exhaust. Subaru made no power claims for the upgrades on the Forester concept but did say those parts are good for an additional 30 hp on the more powerful WRX STI. The XT is of course all-wheel drive, and a beefier R180 rear differential is in place to handle the added power.

Suspension upgrades are substantial: STI coil-overs, antiroll bars, end links and forged aluminum front lower control arms up the Forester's game.

What's Edmunds' take?
Subaru's product public relations manager, Dominick Infante, told us there are no plans to bring the Forester STI to the States. That's the same story we heard for years about the WRX before Subaru sold 23,000 of them in 2002. It's a shame because the Forester STI looks like a fun car. And it's a hell of a lot easier to say than Forester Sports 2.5 XT concept. — Josh Jacquot

Since the DB7 there has been a view that the Jag that follows the latest Aston rival is always the better car. The DB7 for example had technology from the old Jag XJS whereas the XK8 had a whole new chassis! THe New XK is no exception to this rule. Look out for the XKR-R version! Hot diggerty Dawg!!

Hi Scorp

That is because while Citroen's build quality on the DS was good the rustproofing was basically non-existant....which was true of most cars made back then.

There's no doubt the DS was ahead of its time--I've driven a couple and if you compare to say a Mk2 Jag, the DS, while not as luxurious inside, is a far, far more sophisticated vehicle. Once you get used to the brakes that is......

My family were in the motor trade in the 60's and 70's and I remember the state of the DS's that were still about then....The ones that have survived must have fallen into good hands and had a ground-up resto or went straight to the south of France or Cali and stayed there. They just don't do well in northern climates.

There used to be a place not far from where I lived in France that had several DS's, a couple of Traction Avants and various other interesting French metal all locked up in an old warehouse. The owner wouldn't sell, they were just slowly gathering dust and seizing up.

First and only car for me, so I guess that's the best :P A Fiat Punto S55, and yes, the S55 is the amount of horsepowers :/ (Mine is blue though, but couldn't find a picture)

scorpion, i had a punto as a hire car in italy, and, to quote PJ o'Rourke:

"The fastest car in the world is a hire car!"

i think that sums it up! i would never treat my own car the way i did that fiat, and it loved every minute of being thrashed to within an inch of its life, its a good little car, just needs to be driven everywhere "balls out!" as we say in scotland

The three cars I have now are my favourites but I didn't get my first car until I was 28 so not too much history.

1. Aston Martin 1967 DB6 Volante
2. Aston Martin V8 1978
3. 2007 Jaguar XK

Both the Aston's are for sale!

I have always wish mee a aston... But i dont think its the right time just four the moment to buy one but Im curious about how much you ask forur them.
Im most intressted of the one from -78.
I hope the stearing wheel is on the left side

Yes steering wheel on left.
Haven't put a price on the V8 '78 yet but around $45-$50k
DB6 $90-$100k.

Kinda lame ones here.

1st car always has a place in my heart - '84 Camaro (would have been a Z28 but they weren't using the designation for a few years).

Also loved my Isuzu Impulse, Mercury Cougar (I miss that 1), but currently drive a Crown Victoria (I love how people see me in their rearview mirror and get out of the way...I look like an undercover cop driving it :D )

I had an Isuzu Impulse turbo, the original one, designed by Guigaro, and not the later one based on a Geo. Does any one remember their ad for this car, it was a silver one, racing the bullet train, in Japan. Mine looked just like that one. It was a great car, fast and fun to drive but fragile. I traded it in after going through a transmission and read end in less than 50 thousand miles.

I drive a 98 Saturn SL now. I topped that baby out at 85 once. You don't know power until you feel those 180 horses reving under you. What a rush!

1979 Ford Pinto

This baby demanded respect, and sported an inline four cylinder engine with a four speed automatic transmission, ventless door windows, high back, slim line bucket seats, all vinyl upolstery, 2 pod intrument cluster; glovebox, intertior dome light, and Direct-Aire Ventilation system. The previous owner (immigrant Mexican) customized it with a Glass Pack exhaust, moon roof, custom 9 inch rims, and a Direct-Aire Ventilation system assist package, commonly known as tinted windows.

When challenged by other motorists, this one of a kind machine would lunge passengers forward into the dashboard and seat backs with an impressive negative 2 G's of force, as it instantaneously bogged down and decelerated as you rammed the pedal to the metal. At the full service pump, other motorists were awe-struck by this ominous machine emerging from it's cloud of engine oil smoke, as I requested with my head held high "Fill her up with oil, trasmission fluid, power steering fluid, and ... oh yeah ... check the gas."

Current car is a silver Volvo S60, which I recently bought for the move to Georgia. So far as the nicest car I’ve ever owned is concerned, it would be one of the Volvos or Porsches that I’ve owned. I’m not really enough of a car guy to make the call.

Though driving a comfortably tall Saturn VUE these days, I think my fave of all my cars was my first 1966 Caddy Fleetwood 75 Formal Limousine (Similar to the ones shown, though both of mine were black). '66 was the first year that the limos took on the straight line styling (The 65 limos held over the tailfin style of the 64 models) and it was a great style until they ruined the model in 1977. Seated four very comfortably, nine if you used the jumps, and twelve if you were obsessively friendly with your fellow passengers. :) The ride was incredibly smooth, considering the weight of the car. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it had the standard commercial interior of grey cloth and vinyl headliner in the rear compartment. The high-end version had the Brougham interior with the velvety headliner and patterned upholstery.

*Sigh* I really miss that car. I wonder if the cops still have it. :shrug
