Thats not quite accurate. You can get that skinny for some people, under enough stress/trauma etc.

My mom certainly became that skinny during her divorce... if this girl is having one as bad as one poster elluded to, it isn't that surprising for me to suspect that could be part of the situation.

The only way stress does that is by killing your appetite. Therefore you are not eating and not taking in enough calories to sustain yourself. If you are eating and your body does not process your food properly from stress you get FAT not SKINNY. That is how the human body is wired.

So.....stress = loss of appetite = not eating = eating disorder.
