Wondering......

You see a lot of adverts for escorts or ts adult workers who are advertising or publicising themselves at ages that in no way match up to the pictures they are providing. I know a lot of very determined and brave girls transition at a young age but it must take a lot of guts and I was idly pondering how many girls transitioned mid to late twenties which is normally the age in which most people gain some sort of reason and purposeful life plan.

So how old is too old if you're angling to be a convincing ts ? 21? 25? 30? 35?

It's addressed to the Girls as i'm assuming they're more equipped to comment on such a thread but anyone with any kind of knowledge on this subject is, of course, welcome to post.

Thanks, i'd appreciate any replies.

For the most part it's down to genetics and sheer luck. And it's a bastard.

You can have MtFs transition at 18 yet they're still so obviously men. You can have TVs in their 40's and you're just left in awe.

There is no hard and fast rule to any of it. It's luck. Oh, and keeping fit and eating properly too. Well, that's what I keep on telling myself.

Oh and then there's surgery but I don't know too much about that to comment. I haven't had any cosmetic apart from breast implants.

It's just like everything else in life. You can influence to some extent yet some have it and some don't. If you're looking for a candidate for $100k's worth of surgery then let's go!

C'est la vie.

Had to think on this a while...

Though I know/have known quite a number of TS/TG people in my life, I honestly don't recall more than a couple in their 'mature' years. Even then, I believe that their transitions were far earlier in life.

So how old is too old if you're angling to be a convincing ts ?

I defer to Aly's comment:

And 'convincing' isn't really on the plate, unless the gurl is in commercial ventures. 'Passing' is nice, but at the end of the day, it is =they= that see themselves in the mirror, and they are the final judge of where they are in life.

You see a lot of adverts for escorts or ts adult workers who are advertising or publicising themselves at ages that in no way match up to the pictures they are providing.

I personally know one gurl that shaves ten years +/- off of her actual age in her ads and posts photos of herself that are at least a decade old. I understand that she's marketing to a segment of the population that likes lean and mean in their dates, but I've seen her, talked to her, touched her and, quite honestly, think the old pix don't do her a whit of justice and the age thing may actually hurt her as far as the clientele she may not seek, but certainly needs to focus on.

(Yes, you! You know who you are and if you are reading these words and say "You lie!", even in jest, I'll spank you the next time you're in town!)

Maybe this thread needs to ask "How old is too old: When do you send the ol' codger packing to the snooker parlor?". :) The gurls are happy with themselves, no matter when they transition. Yet are they even the slightest bit amused by =US= at that point?

Yeah, it's a crap shoot. :shrug

As Alison stated genetics, and having a good foundation to work from
are important.

As a middle aged transwoman (yes we really exist) I am glad I started
early.

Starting earlier may hinder some of the secondary sexual characteristics
from fully occuring. Testosterone production can be particularly brutal
to the budding transwoman.

Statistically the longer a woman waits to transition, the more the odds
may be stacked against the woman. Testosterone over the years will
change the texture of the skin, alter the bone structure, and in general
masculinize the individual. Of course some people will be effected more
than others.

Ideally the person is somewhat androgynous in their appearance, or at
a minimum not overtly masculine. Fortunately there are a number of
surgical options that can allow a woman to be more convincing.

By convincing we are referring to being passable, not neccessarily
model material.

Bottom line, it's all the luck of the draw.

Oh, and my photos are less than a year old, guess I came from a good
gene pool.

Hi,

Thanks for the informative and intelligent responses. Some were kind of what I was expecting to hear and others gave me a fresh perspective on the subject. I would still like to hear more transition stories although if some girls have done this already and i'm not getting it through the hideously scattergun search function then slap me if i'm being a clown.

Thanks again for your responses.

Convincing based upon who's standards? You see... i've come across so many transwomen who- though they have experienced extremely harsh circumstances (such as homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, poisoning and stressful relationships, etc.) in my standards they look extremely attractive. And many of them had started their transitions at different ages( many in their teens, 20's, and 30's) I would have to add that a healthy transitional process not only depends upon one's genetics, but is also based upon said person's physical and mental health. Many of the women I had mentioned previously had been extremely spiritual and were therefore able to be resilient through all their hardships. It's important to understand that a transition of any kind is holistic in nature, and that every aspect of a person's being has to be ready for that transition process in order to assure that everything will be copacetic .
That's just my view.
