Apples iPhone has not be released and thus you cant make simplistic, heavy-handed observations and comments until it is officially out. So shut up and stop acting like a super-nerd regrding technology that has yet to be released. A lot has changed in the original design since the Keynote address (and the entire PDA and phone industry is playing catch-up with Apple despite the fact that Apple doesnt even have a shipping product yet - which shows you that they are in fact a power to be reckoned with - and Wall Street agrees)

Let's wait 6 months and see.

'Nuff said noob. Now go back to your Windows 98 beige box and play some more Solitare. :0)

Despite being a GSM phone its restricted to cingulars network.Essentially making it useless for anyone else using a diffrent mobile carrier as they wont be able to take full advantage of all the phones features even if it is unlocked.

Because of its closed nature as an OS X system its more than likely bound for the bin pretty quickly as developers wont be able to do anything with it

Considering its extortinate price (around $500-$600) its not geared towards business users nor professionals but more than likely anyone who is 25 and under. At that price theres not many kids going to get a present like that in there christmas stocking.

Its not more versatile than most PDA`s MDA`s XDA`s etc and its doesnt boast enough HD memory than its regular iPod.Essentially making the whole phone/MP3 player feature pointless.

Due to there lack of co operation with other mobile carriers expect this product to sink very very quickly.

Phone is pointless and will die quickly before it even hits the market full force. It has 3+ lawsuits under it.

I worked for Apple (in Europe) for a time of 2 years and I have to say that I started to love the iPhone thanks to things like:

-Multitouch Screen.
-Real Desktop OS instead of a crappy castrated Linux or Windows Mobile.

Thanks to this the iPhone could be the most revolutionary phone of the last years but Apple started to act in a misterious way:

-Closing the environment for the iPhone, if OS X is special is because I can create application services and core services that can be used for any application and I can use the existing one. Apple now has closed the environment for the developers.

-Apple will be the only company able to do software for it.

In other words, they charge the best operating system of the world on the mobile phone, an OS that is alive thanks to the developers community and the first idea that they have is to close the access for the developers who have made the OS X an important alternative to Windows.

Thanks Apple for ignore us.
