View Full Version : Come up with New Ranks!

NYCe
03-07-2007, 06:08 PM
Since so many people have passed the 1000 mark (which honestly we didn't expect anyone to) and I've been pm'd by at least 7 people who want custom ranks, use this thread to come up with a new ranks for the following:

2000 posts
3000 posts
4000 posts

Also regarding some sort of special rank for persons who currently have "A Hot HungAngel" status when they surpass a certain post count, sorry - that's just not possible at this time.

Hi NYCe,

Here are some thoughts.

For 1,000 posts - rank - CTE 1st class
For 2,000 posts - rank - CTE 2nd class or bronze
For 3,000 posts - rank - CTE 3rd class or silver
For 4,000 posts - rank - CTE 4th class or gold
For 5,000 posts - rank - CTM = Certified Tranny Master or Kneel Suckers

Nice and simple. What do you think?

Hi NYCe,

How about a Certified Expert in Transsexual Topics?

Not quite so snappy and a bit more PC but possibly more descriptive.

What thinketh thou, oh wise and all powerful one? http://i17.tinypic.com/315inpe.gif

NYCE, I truly appreciate your willingness and openess to the
addition of HA ranking designations.

Just the other day this topic came up. I am not sure if you were
able to peruse the posts relative to it.

Thus for your edification I will re-post, what I feel are some cogent
points.

My levity notwithstanding in them I feel that they are relevant to the
present discussion.

I apologize if you are others have already read them, however I feel
that they are germane to this matter.

peggygee
03-07-2007, 07:50 PM
I actually had given that some thought as well.

For the women, what of the girl who doesn't want to be a 'Hung'
Hot Angel. As we have discussed ad nauseum, ad infinitum
many transwomen are not particularly happy with their penises.
And may not wanted to be reminded of what is between their
legs every time they post.

Also it seems that even once a girl goes past 1000 posts she still
is a 'Hot hung Angel'. I feel that there should be additional
designations availible for her as well.

NYCE, being the kewl dude that he is, will if you ask nicely change
your designation. (NYCE, you are so cool, please Daddy, can we go
half on a baby?)

And getting to CTE, or any advanced standing shouldn't be done
by posting; yup, I'd hit it, ditto, Right On, Co-sign, what he said, etc.

It should be based on quality as well as quantity. Now you don't
have to write a fuc$&@* treatise like I do with your posts, but
bring something to the table if you want to sit there.

As to me, when I reach 1000, I have been promised that I will
no longer be President Of IPOWA, but Empress Of The Known
Universe.

What the hell is tranny science, some sort of mad scientist experiments on transsexuals, anyway those titles are meaningless.

Legend, I respectfully beg to differ with you.

Oftentimes the only information that any of the men or women
will get is from these boards.

I feel that it is our duty to impart what knowledge we have to
those that are less informed than us.

Hopefully by the time a person reaches CTE status they are
versed in the area of transsexualism.

To some, their understanding of transgenderism is limited to
ogling dick pictures. To others they are concerned about the
psychology, biology, endocrinology, laws, etc, that impacts a
transpersons life.

Thus CTE, or any other advanced designation should be earned
based upon merit, not just staying awake in class.

peggygee
03-07-2007, 07:52 PM
I agree with you peggy that it should be based on quality as well. But how do you want it to realize? You would have to built a comission who judges the posts of every single poster.Just not practicable.

By no means do I think that a person should have each of their
posts judged for merit and significance (though some boards do).

But the Gary Cooper, yup, nope, posts don't cut the cheese. :smh

peggygee
03-07-2007, 07:53 PM
I concur, peggy. While I've a few posts of the Gary Cooper ilk, I strive for posts of some substance (ganga, whisky...). I've been a CTE forever--I was one of the first five or so, iirc, and the second to hit 2000 and 3000 (the first did so by posting pics like Spedius on speed, lol). How about Doctor of Transcience? hee

Or Dirty Old Man....

By all means.

Someone who has consistently been posting the quantity and
quality of posts that you have, more than deserves to have a
higher designation conferred upon them.

Without being redundant, there are those for whom being a
CTE is but a worthless title on an forum. However I feel that
it can be a position that literallly can change lives.

The information garnered here can foster better relationships
between the genders, and a greater understanding of trans-issues
by women and men alike.

Which translates into a quality of life if not in some instances
life or death matter.

As far as custom ranks, that was feasible once upon a time. Now with the large number of users, this has quickly become an added and unnecessary headache. Between deleting spam, (attempting) to answer PMs, lawsuits and cyberthreats my hands are full.

I agree with peggygee regarding the "quality vs quantity" debate.

Does anyone remember when we didn't have ranks?

Honestly does anybody really think i'm a CTE probably not and i can think of other guys who shouldn't even have that CTE title based on their post not saying all my post are deep i don't argue with people just to get my post count up or post non-stop threads about sample clips. If we are gonna really buy into that title system then it should reflect each individuality persona. But i do agree with you titles should be earned and not becuase of their post count.

For what it's worth, I belong to a forum where posters are given humorous ranks based on numbers of posts. It's a recording forum, and it starts with 'Audio School', then, in possibly inaccurate order, goes through 'buying gear', 'setting up mics', 'gimme a little kick and snare', 'gettin' sounds', 'rolling tape', 'ass engineer', all the way to 'moves faders with mind', 'steve albini likes it', 'george martin', 'deaf' and the like. All the members get a kick out of it, and it's actually kind of fun to have a roadmap.
To me, this could be an opportunity to introduce a little wit, while simultaneously being instructive. For the guys, things like 'noob', 'asking redundant questions', 'typing one handed', ' to, I don't know, maybe becoming smoother wif de ladies, you scenesters can think of some pithy remarks, all the way to humorous ones for the megaposters, like 'never sleeps'. For the ladies, humor about noob status might not fly...like 'buying waxing kit at the self checkout line', but again, maybe the angels could have some appropriate, knowledgeable and gently humorous thngs to say. Like a lot of my writing, this idea is kind of involved, but could be worked out rather quickly, it would be fun to do, and fun for the members.

Hi Legend,

Point taken, but can you think, realistically, what other criteria any kind of ranking system could be based on. Furthermore, who would manage it impartially and judge which member deserved to be rewarded or punished?

Please think before you answer. You could very well end up writing your way into a job offer.

Peer review is often used in conferring advanced
degrees in academia.

Peer review
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peer_review

For other uses, see Peer review (disambiguation).

Peer review (known as refereeing in some academic
fields) is a process of subjecting an author's scholarly
work or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts
in the field. It is used primarily by editors to select and
to screen submitted manuscripts, and by funding agencies,
to decide the awarding of grants.

The peer review process aims to make authors meet the
standards of their discipline, and of science in general.
Publications and awards that have not undergone peer review
are likely to be regarded with suspicion by scholars and professionals
in many fields. Even refereed journals, however, can contain errors.

Of course we here at HA aren't talking about scholarly
contributions, but rather how has a member
contributed to the betterment of the forum, and the
transcommunity.

Hi Peggy,

Many thanks for your valued input.

Your mention of peer review sparked off something in my memory.

I've seen, on other forums, an accolade (points) system where the merit, or lack thereof, of a particular post is decided on by the other members. They then, individually, award an exalt (+1 point) or smite (-1 point) to the poster.

Like all systems, it's open to abuse by those members who are conducting vendettas against other members. But it is an alternative to the present system.

It could also be considered as "thinking outside the box".

What do you think?

It would never work, not least in the Politics Forum where we'd end up smiting each other to hell all day long. But I do think though that the CTE designation is limited and agree that it doesn't reflect the quality of the posts. Also, I agree that something without the word Tranny in it might be seen as preferable.

I like the way some posts made in old threads will say 'BANNED' by the members name. Since so many people have passed the 1000 mark (which honestly we didn't expect anyone to) and I've been pm'd by at least 7 people who want custom ranks, use this thread to come up with a new ranks for the following: 2000 posts 3000 posts 4000 posts

For now even a bronze poster is a higher rank than a CTE.Come on this is the Hung Angel Board.Itīs all about the girls.A CTE is what every guy here wants to be.Not only here but outside the board as well.

It could also be considered as "thinking outside the box".
Hmm, I have enough trouble trying to get my cat to think inside the box. :)

A shout out to B1 on that one....

Heh, just now caught up with this.

She's actually been behaving rather well, of late. Now, if I could only get her to stop licking my lips while I sleep and the other one from climbing up on the roof...

Mine seems to suffer from both an excess of personality and pushiness (not to mention being excessively large). I'll be asleep when I feel the cat head-butting the side of my face in an attempt to wake me up so I’ll play with her. When I invariably turn away from her, sleeping on my side so as to avoid further head buts to the face, she will sit there and literally growl at me. Not petting her in a timely fashion, say when I’m trading heavily or on a conference call, will result in much the same behavior. Without fail, it always makes me laugh.

i think a combination of suckseed's and peggygee's ideas would be ideal. use suckseed's idea of titles being related to the 'scene' (or whatever you call it) for titles determined by postcount.

for example:

0-99: trick
100-499: rookie poster
500-999: junior poster
1000-1999: veteran poster
2000-2999: ?
3000-3999: ?
4000-4999: ?
5000+: rogue adventurer

i know 'trick' is a derogatory term but i think we can give it a pass cause it reflects the general attitude toward noobs anyway. they have to earn they're rookie status. 'rogue adventurer' should be self-explanatory. if this sounds good, think up some more titles to fill in the rest.

once you've established a personality on the board, then peggygee's peer review comes in to decide on a custom title. cause after a while you come to expect certain posts out of certain posters.

for example:

if hondarobot approves, i think his title should be changed from "certified tranny expert" to "i'm just saying". it's not meant to rip on him but he just always has those kind of posts, you know what i'm saying.

Maybe Chefmike is platinum, not silver? (I know, it says silver.) As for the quality of the posts, I try my best most of the time, but then Chefmike has also made some outstanding posts too, and I would never try to compare my post quality with anyone else's.

Thanks a lot, Ecstatic.

T'aint a bad idea.

But please be mindful of the women here
as well, and not have them be confined by
the glass ceiling of 'Hungangel'.

i guess i excluded the angels from my post, sorry. i think they should be able to choose whatever title they want. the only problem is sometimes noobs don't know who's really an angel and who just has an avatar of an angel. i can't tell you how many times some guy has pm'd me thinking that i'm the girl in my avatar.

Yeah, if a woman wants to be a Hungangel off course that's her choice.
And this isn't per se in reference to whether she is on speaking terms
with her penis, or not. But rather she should be able to earn higher
ranking just like the guys.

It doesn't look like there is a rank set up for 2 stars, goes from 1 to 3.

I see chefmike has surpassed iluvshemales with the number of posts, I didn't think anybody would do that.

You deserve the props. My posting kind of dropped off for a few months and when I wasn't paying attention, you roared right past me. Like Bigguy says, I never expected anyone to pass iluvshemales, and you did. I think you're the only two over 4,000 posts now?

The only downside is I was a gold poster for a few hours, now I'm demoted to silver and have to make another 600 posts to get there, lol.

A dubious honor on my part?

We've butted heads a few times, but what with you being a Buddhist, and myself being basically a hothead(not that there's anything wrong with that!), I take full responsibility for those occasions, Ecstatic.

I have always enjoyed your posts, and I have always been impressed by your intellect and insight...

As for my post count...a few pic threads...the popular trainee(as MEGA would say) ones needed to be deleted due to the "D Foxxx league for tranny decency" hysteria...

PS - I suspect that the majority of my posts have been directed at the BUSHEVIK hypocrites who lurk and troll this fine forum....

But what can I say...

They piss me off.

Thanks, Chefmike. We may have butted heads a few times, but we've had some really good exchanges as well. I remember especially sharing some culinary tips, as I was a professional cook in another life (ok, not the Buddhist sort of another life, but over a quarter of a century ago).

Hmmm, getting hungry, thinking about a Kelly burger.... Seriously, a food thread would be good, any exciting new ideas? I've been cooking a lot of venison lately.

I have a favorite "comfort food" recipe for venison or beef. It's a simple stew flavored with a little thyme and a generous amount of cumin. Throw in some garlic and pearl onions and thicken a good brown stock. But the kicker is green olives, and I like the lemon stuffed ones for this dish....Serve over couscous, rice, pasta, whatever...you won't be disappointed.

I've made similar stews many times--as you say, simple, easy, and so delish--but I never thought to try lemon stuffed green olives. I can see where the lemon would add just the right edge to the cumin, olives, and go well with venison, or lamb. Thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, I know I've been here for about 5 minutes, so everyone is dying to hear my input, but nothing really captures just how dysfunctional this place is right down to the crazy color scheme like Prince. Therefore I propose the following rankings

0-99 - When Doves Cry
100-199 - Controversy
200-299 - Erotic City
300-399 - Raspberry Beret
400-499 - I want to be your lover
500-999 - Little Red Corvette
1000-1998 - Purple Rain
1999-1999 - 1999
2000-2999 - DMSR
3000-3999 - Kiss
4000-4999 - Seven
5000+ - Sexy M.F.
