Blind" Lemon Jefferson (September 1893–December 1929) was an influential blues singer and guitarist from Texas. He was one of the most popular blues singers of the 1920s.

Despite his commercial success, Jefferson stands alone in a category of his own. His musical style was extremely intense and individualistic, bearing little resemblance to the typical Texas blues style of the 1930's. His singing and self-accompaniment seemed only loosely connected and he appeared to improvise his accompaniment. His irregular vocal style and his freely structured field holler rhythms made the tension between his guitar and his voice wildly unpredictable. He was not influential on younger blues singers as they did not seek to imitate him as they did other commercially successful artists. [1] On the other hand, the white North Carolina performer Arthel "Doc" Watson credited listening to Jefferson's recordings as his first exposure to the blues, which would powerfully influence his own style.
The song title "Black Snake Moan" will be used as a movie title for the 2007 film Black Snake Moan starring Samuel L. Jackson and Christina Ricci.

I always enjoye Blind Lemon Jefferson work .

I'm planning to see it as soon as it comes out. I missed the SNL skit, but I rarely watch SNL anymore.

Thanks for the background info.

I like the premise of the movie, but most likely won't see
it until Netflix gets it.

Yeah, I don't watch SNL anymore, I am more of a Mad TV fan.

I'm a huge Samuel L. Jackson fan, but this movie looks like it's going to completely suck.

It's going to suck if Sam Jackson's in it. I'm sure he'll use the usual lines, "Outstanding!" and "Muthafuckin' this! and muthafuckin' that!"

Now, to a more important subject. Does Ricci show her tits in this one? She looks pretty tasty in the cutoffs. Cover the forehead and uncover the big natural tits.

old dead thread --

I watched this movie this passed weekend too ---

I liked it ---kinda makes me sick how women get abused --and then keep abusing themselves --abuse ---fucks people up ---very sad ---

Samuel L Jackson's character was awesome ---

and even though I was never a Backstreet Boys fan ---it's good to see Timberlake acting ----something real --rather than that damn bubble gum music he did --

and of course --Christina Ricci looked hot as hellfire --damn ---skinny petite women RULE ---

it never did explain her cough ---and after that one bottle of syrup --her cough disappeared ----

The best part of that movie was when it was over.
