Guys... This is the #1 or #2 question that I get asked... Lots of people want to do porn. I'll explain why it is so hard for guys to get a break into the TS scene in LA (or in general) from a movie perspective.

#1 - Potential flakiness: I was personally affected by this so I know why movie houses don't allow many unknown people into the videos. Joey S thought it would be cool to have a fan from my Yahoo group be the guy in the scene with me in Rogue 15. Well I had about 20 responses... finally filtering down to maybe 5, and then down to just a few... We picked this one guy who let Joey pay for his test and then flaked the same day! Fortunately one of the regulars was available or it would have been totally shitty and cost Joey a lot of $ to reschedule... You need to be able to depend on people.

#2 - Location: Honestly if you want to be in vids and make a living off of it, you HAVE to live in LA. While some videos are shot in NYC or SF or pretty much anywhere... to make a living off of it, LA is your only option. There are a few exception (Brazil?) but it would be pretty hard to make ends meet there. TS porn films very irregularly as it is. The downside of TS porn is you probably won't get enough work to make a living and if you do it, the str8 porn typically won't touch you. Str8 porn guys can make bank because the good ones can work 4-5 days a week (even more sometimes).

#3 - You don't have a TS girlfriend yet: If you have a TS friend or GF and she recommends you, then you could maybe get a shot. This is how some guys get in.

#4 - You haven't contacted the companies directly... Find contact info on the boxes or web sites. E-mail the webmasters with pictures. hehehe... They will probably hate me for saying that. BTW... Having a nice dick is probably more important than how sexy you look (both even better) - (see Ron Jeremy)

I think NYC guys who just want a one scene and out type of thing have really good chances of being in videos because the producers don't really have contacts there for regular film work. You won't make a living off of it, but if you just wanted to be in a porn or two, I could see it happening. All of this is only my opinion and what I have seen and heard so far.

The other questions would be:

I still get asked this question a lot though. I always say it really isn't up to me. It's up to the producer. I mean go talk to Allanah, Joanna, Wendy, Gia, Giselle, or any of these other girls who make porn movies themselves.

Probably the most direct and "easiest" route to your own porn appearance could begin with the question "How much money have you got?".

It's the same way Kevin "Silent Bob" Smith and Spike Lee got into their first mainstream movies. In both cases, they just loaded up their credit cards and crossed their fingers.

I know of others that entered the publishing industry in the same way, not wanting to battle their way through endless "slush piles" and rejection slips, they dove in and let their talent carry them forward.

This is also, I might caution, a good way to drain your resources and end up with no other ASSet at hand than stacks of unsold DVDs showing various views of your nekkid butt. :moon
