I think you're speaking as a man from NYC!
I agree though -one of my best friends, who looks like Hillary Duff, slept at my place one night, and I was shocked at what she looked like in the morning without all the eye makeup.
But I have to say, in a place like Colorado, women just sport a tan and hardbodies from biking and rockclimbing, and wear little or no makeup and look great. Here in Oregon, makeup's not a big thing either except as a retro/suicide girl thing, and after getting used to it, I think this town is crawling with hotties.
And I think Katie looks great in that pic.

Alot of times it only matters because it's what we're used to. I girl can be attractive without make-up, but if you only see her with it on, when you se it off it's a SHOCK!

Nothing wrong using make up. I like wearing make up but then again I dont like to wear make up on a daily basis. ;)

I think Eva Longoria still looks pretty with or without make up. :P

Katie Couric looks a mess without make up.

And JLo looked ok without make up.

The words "Katie Couric" and "gorgeous" should only appear in the same sentence if the words "is absolutely not" are between them.

I can't get over how different Eva looks like without her makeup. The others don't really surprise me that much, but, to me, Eva looks like a completely different woman who I probably wouldn't even recognize as being her.

For popular celebrities, this can be an enormous asset. I was at a trade show in Atlanta many years back (I won't confess to how many) and we were booked in a small hotel just north of the city. At breakfast one morning a friend joined us and said "I just saw a woman in the pool that was a dead-ringer for Tyne Daly". After a couple of moments of letting him reflect on the 'resemblence', we pointed out that it was indeed Tyne Daly, accompanied by George Stanford Brown and that the two men at the breakfast buffet bar were Martin Balsam and Richard Crenna. They happened to be in town for location shots and were laying low during the screenwriter's strike. Lacking the studio makeup, they blended in with the people around them and had a generally quiet weekend, something that this age of stalking paparazzi doesn't allow them much of.

LOL I think she is trying to copy other famous women who shaved their head like Demi Moore, Natalie Portman, Sinead O'Connors etc. Sadly tho her face isnt that "beautiful" to carry the bald chic look. LOL

Good point, particularly where the paparazzi are concerned. The scrutiny that can come with fame is definitely a curse.

it's kind of like a badge of honor at this point.
