Coming to America (David Beckham)

Coming from the UK I was just wondering how many people in America actually give a shit about David Beckham’s eminent arrival at the Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy, obviously over here he is a huge star but do most people in the US even know who he is, and if they do what is the general conception of him and his wife across the pond so to speak. Are people cynical (particularly those from LA) about his motivations for choosing to play there, or maybe you just think soccer is shit full stop. Either way I would appreciate your views if you are in the slightest bit interested. :)

I give a shit about David Beckham. He's an okay player though, Wayne Rooney could whoop him. He's good, but overrated. And why would he sign with the LA Galaxy? MLS teams aren't that great.

I saw Beckham play with Manchester United when they won the treble!!
I thinks he still has skill but wont add anything to US soccer
