I see snickers apologized for their commercial during the superbowl. They say some people were offended. I wasn't offended, I was disgusted and outraged. I watch tranny porn but I don't wanna see 2 guys suckin' some girls cock either!!!

I was FURIOUS too!!! To think that baby Ruth was the original chocolate bar to use the peanuts, nougat, and caramel combination. People will stoop to anything these days!!!!

Trivia: WHo was the Baby Ruth candy bar named after??

Most people think Babe Ruth, the baseball player. But it was in fact named after Teddy Rosevelt's baby daughter Ruth.

snicker, snicker

Laughing? It was so stupid. No one eats a candy bar like that. It was just some ad persons fantasy. Then they just added the hair ripping to kinda justify it.If that was a project in elementary school it would get an "F". And that's just based on the general value, not the ridiculous disturbing effect.

the uproar wasn't just over the one that they aired at the Superbowl, it was over the alternatives they posted on the web. Those showed even more homophobic violence and intolerance. One ending shows a third older effeminate mechanic showing up, trying to make it a threesome another shows the guys drinking oil and antifreeze , poisoning themselves to get rid of their gayness and the last shows one guy beating the other with a huge wrench, while the second slams the hood of a car down on his head.

Try telling Mathew Sheppard's or Gwen Araujo's parents that the commercial was hilarious.

Hey Felicia how have you been?

You know I am usually right on with you on most things but this one I am not so sure of:

the uproar wasn't just over the one that they aired at the Superbowl, it was over the alternatives they posted on the web.

This I agree with whole heartedly

Those showed even more homophobic violence and intolerance. another shows the guys drinking oil and antifreeze , poisoning themselves to get rid of their gayness and the last shows one guy beating the other with a huge wrench, while the second slams the hood of a car down on his head.

I don't know if I agree with this quite as much. I did not see it as homophobic Violence and intolerance as you did. This could be because I have never been the victim of intolerance I don't know. How I saw it was these two men who caught themselves in a very uncomfrontable position and were trying to prove their "studlyness" by one uping each other. While most of these instances happened in my childhood most however ended up in a brawl like I saw in the commerical. I don't know why, maybe it had to do with the whole idea that I can not one up him anymore so I must kick his ass, who knows. Testosterone is a wonderful drug. :P

Try telling Mathew Sheppard's or Gwen Araujo's parents that the commercial was hilarious.

I can agree with this they would not find it hilarious nor would I ever stoop so low as to believe that they would.

But

How about asking people who lost family in wars if 1942, MASH, Blackadder goes forth, and all the other comedy war movies if it was funny?

How about asking people who lost family in Airline crashes if Airplane and Airplane II were funny?

No one ever thinks of those.

Snicker's aired a commerical a few years ago for their new Snickers Crunch bar where it showed a subway driver beating a Scottish Piper with the subway doors. I am scottish and I aspire to learn the pipes. At first this did torque me the wrong way. However my girlfriend (undoubtably one of the smartest lasses in the world and also scottish herself) pointed out, "Are you that insecure in your own self to the point, that actually bothers you?" Made me think and I learned to laugh again at myself, however it did take me a while to eat a snickers crunch bar....I wasn't impressed :x . What I learned that day I had been telling others over my long life but never fully understood it until it hit home....Humans today take themselves way to seriously and Americans are some of the worst at it.
infact we have turned it into an art form.

To paraphrase the immortal words of Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
if something cannot be allowed to be funny then nothing can

Personally I like to laugh and I did laugh at that commerical I found it funny. Do I advocate violence to groups of Homosexual and or transgendered communities? Hell no never will and I have called out quite a few morons who had issues with these communities. Hopefully they learned their lessons........probably not but I did have fun instructing them

by the way Fk nice to see you back missed you

I agree 100% MH. Well put. The only thing I would add (and I didn't see the commercial) is that one should try to understand the intent of the writer(s). I saw the commercial for the suicidal robot that is also taking a lot of heat. The out of work auto workers & suicide prevention groups are up in arms. Yes, they have a point, but if you look at the intent of the ad, I don't think there was any intention whatsoever to demean either of those groups.

It's not just about being personally offended by those ads; it's about perpetrating the myth that being gay is not masculine. Whenever one exploits the stereotype of a disadvantaged group for commercial gain, there will be people who would be offended.

It’s the stereotype that gay men are not real men that plays a factor in violence against homosexual males.

I can see your point. However take a look at my sig. it says it all. in my world you allow yourself to be offended by something then you admit it holds power over you, even to the point of being powerless to stop it. Things in life make me mad but after my above incident I am no longer offended. It will be water off my back....trust me it is much better than being offended.

maybe humans should spend less time being "offended" and more time fixing the things they feel are wrong.

forgive me I tend to rant

Oh that too I can agree on it was a cheap laugh to say the most of it, but otherwise did I want to buy a snicker bar anymore now than I did before the commerical?......yeah right the last thing I need is more fat on me.

on the flipside are there any fastfood people out there that was "offended" by "whats his loser face" commerical? hell I can't even rememver his name......you know, that guy that knocked up Brittany Spears twice.
