What exactly is fake or phoney on this forum?!?

So I don't "hijack" a thread someone please tell me what exactly is a "fake" or "phoney" poster on HA?!?

To me a phoney poster is one of those spammers that signs on and posts a link to get someone to click on said link and open up a can of worms (i.e. back door trojans, etc.); but that's just me

Uhm...90...no, 85% of the people that are here are phoney.

10...no, 12% are fake.

That leaves 3% that are real and true and are who they say they are.

You know, just like in real life.

Well, JWBL, I'd prefer more, ahh, choice terms for slime that post not merely spam but virally infectious spam. Fake or phoney to me are those who pretend to be what they are not. Of course, the range is pretty wide, since we all to some degree adopt different online characteristics compared to our "real" lives, but I mean those who are extreme in their fakery.

I can understand that, and I agree with you Ecstatic, online characteristics are often completely different than the user's offline persona. That's not just here on HA, that's on the net in general.
