why is everyone so concerned with race? Peolpe are ignorant and it will always be that way. You aren't going to be able to have everyone person in the world embrace or even understand others cultures. That being said even though race shouldn't be an issue it always seems to be, and from experience black people seem to be the ones most concerned about it the most. White people established the ethnicity rift with the slave movement, but it seems like the roles have changed a bit, in the sense that more black people are judgemental than most white people; with the exclusion of severly sheltered people or those with backgrounds that have involved emtremly biased opinions. Black culture has become the new model for popular cultures behavior for example; Hip-hop is best/coolest music, the baby phat,ecko and other brands are the clothing, basically anything they do becomes cool. Imagine a white guy walking around before they became slang saying things like "This party is crunk" or "Fo Shizzle", it would be dubbed stupid immediatly. If I'm at a party why do I get labeled white boy? What happens if I call someone Blackboy or Blackgirl rather than refering to them by their name? I'd probably have about 15 peolpe want to beat the tar out of me. Its an annoying double standard, it runs along the same lines as why women with lots of partners are sluts but guys with a lot of partners are Heros. Just like a black comedian can make fun of white people, and we are supposed to laugh it off. Generally we do because its usually funny and true. But if a white comedian makes black jokes hes immediatly a KKK member;excluding the guy from seinfield that was wrong on many levels. With that in mind, a black comedian makes the same jokes as the white one, and he's the funniest guy out there. And people look at you crazy if you're white and get offended by another discriminating against you, because you're white you aren't allowed to get offended. Seeing as the entire world is owned by white people and we have everything handed to us.
Now before i'm labeled a black or any other race hate monger, i have dont dislike any race. Cmon! You see how the United States government responded to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, who were predominately black. I'm not saying the government had some sort of premeditated genocidal agenda. However, I think there is an visceral indifference and lack of empathy for people, who the power elite can't relate to. Those people tend to be poor and minority. Some white people tried to say "well the mayor of New Orleans is black (Ray Nagin)", but when you talk about a Category 5 hurricane hitting a poverty stricken city below sea level, there needs to be Federal intervention, specifically from FEMA. He just didn't have access to the financial reservior or manpower to prevent the impending tragedy from happening. He even said, the state governor Kathleen Blanco was unresponsive to his requests initially. Also, Ray Nagin and his predecessors, could ever get funding approval from the state government, to overhaul the levees. It's been known for decades, that any hurricane over a Category 3, would engulf the city in water, but nothing was done. I'm pretty sure Jeb Bush and his Cabinet, would have never allowed such a thing to occur to a white community, even a poorer one.

Recently, where I'm from in NYC, a young, unarmed Black man named Sean Bell, was gunned down and killed the morning before his wedding, leaving his Bachelor's Party at a Brooklyn strip club by N.Y.C Police Officers. One of the other two men in the car, is darn near crippled, as a result of all the gunshots he took. Whites like to say it's not a "race thing", but I rarely see them getting gunned down for no reason. So, who are they to preach this "racism exists only in your mind" ideology. People really minimize the racial debate, by making this topic into a "me against him" thing. In reality, I'm not really concerned with the silly, prejudiced everyday interactions with powerless white people. I'm concerned about the business loan I can't get, because some whitebred loan officer assumes my mere race, makes me more prone to default on my loan responsibilites resulting in a denial and deferment of one's aspirations. Recently, there was pressure placed on the advertising industry in NYC, by a small group of black civil rights activist, to sort of spread the wealth around by signing a industry wide resolution. Funny thing is, "Stupid" goes into this whole "white racism isn't that bad, because black culture and hip hop is the most popular thing in mainstream culture" diatribe, yet considering all the ads containing hip-hop influences, these same ad agencies don't buy ad space in black-owned media and when they do, they pay less than white media outlets with similar listenership or readership levels. So, I could care less if a 16 y.o white kid listens to 50 Cent or Snoop Dogg, while cruising his middle class surburban neighborhood. If the "behind the scenes" industry supporting hip-hop is still undiversified. I hate to see these "Making the Video" clips on BET and MTV for rap/R & B artists and all of the people on the set, with the exception of the video models and hanger's on are white. This is where real upward mobility starts, not using some weathly rapper's life, as some sort of testimony to the entire race's plight. This is what Five Percenters refer to as "tricknowledgy". I refer to it as the Matrix. A false reality or social construct, that is set up to keep you passified and obedient. Those who try to expose and bring this light and change the "real" reality are usually vilified and marginalized (see Marcus Garvey or Elijah Mohammed). These men had their faults, but they were far outweighed by their contributions to black society, but we fell victim to the negative propoganda, as usually.

My point is, race relations are very complex, especially when examining the roots of the problem. However, people like to run this "One race, the Human race", naiveness to Blacks, when there's no shortage of non-black people who feel different. I'm not saying blacks should hate whites or promote anti-black biases, but seek to empower themselves mentally, spiritually, culturally and financially. Unfortunately, black folks current mindstate prohibits this, as we are divided and see ourselves thru someone else's prism, as fed to us.

Most of those affected in New Orleans were the poorest of the poor from this country and could not just get up and drive off in their Lincoln. In a natural disaster of that magnitude, one expects the federal government -- particularly from the richest, most powerful country on the planet -- to come through with aid for its citizens with as much as assistance as possible. The Clinton Administration came through when needed with FEMA via its appointments and acts, the incompetent Bush Administration didn't. My guess is that this disaster once again demonstrated how inept this administration is, so you conveniently and cowardly blame those who could least help themselves. Where's your "Rah-rah, go USA!", concern for the citizens who lost everything in that region of that country? Why does your patriotism not apply to them? Both y'all need to calm the fuck down. First off, the issue with Katrina is far from a race issue. If anything, it's just the Bush administration proving to everyone just how freaking imcompitent they are. Second, those that think that liberals are trying to destroy America are seriously deluded. If anything, what this country needs is more balance--for the Conservatives, there needs to be a counterbalance against them, just as the Liberals need one for them. Reading your post I can quickly see that you haven't been around very many minorities for any period of time, have you? It`s a point of fact the Federal government are not the first responders, local and State authorities are. It is also common knowledge the Governor alone that calls out the National Guard and formally requests Federal aid . TWO VERY IMPORTANT FACTS .

The largest units are 256th Infantry Brigade consisting of two mechanized infantry, an armor, an artillery and an engineer battalion and the 225th Engineer Group. Mechanized means M1 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradlies, and M109 Paladin howitzers.

There are about 3,748 Louisiana Army National Guardsmen and Army Reservists and 193 Air Guardsmen and Reservists on active duty throughout the world. The lion’s share of them, about 3,500, are with the 256th Infantry Brigade in Iraq. This left some 8,000 Guardsmen and an unknown number of Army Reservists available for disaster relief. The skill sets in those units, with the exception of the single combat engineer battalion, have no particular utility in disaster relief.

So the argument that the absence of the 450 men of the 1088th Engineer Battalion were somehow critical to response to this disaster, or that the 3,500 troops missing could not be more than adequately replaced by other troops from neighboring states is just not true.


Viewed from any position the idea that a very small number of troops could in anyway have had an impact on the aftermath of Katrina is laughable. It is doubly laughable because it ignores the 10,000+ out of State National Guardsmen who began arriving in Louisiana on Wednesday and the thousands of out-of-state police officers who have also been loaned to Louisiana.

The whole story line is nothing more or less than a dishonest attack perpetrated by the left in their concerted effort to make political points on the backs of the dead and homeless.

Tell you the truth, I don't give a fuck about poor people and the GOVERNMENT shouldn't do anything but get the fuck out of the way of business and the "poor people".
