I've always wondered about the first topic myself.
Most of the guys who go to these clubs would love to have any of those ladies as a girlfriend or wife. So why are they single?
I think the escorting is a way of providing for themselves, so they don't need to rely on anyone. Not to review a years old thread... but since it's already been done, I have to respectfully disagree with "Lady Angela" regarding her opinon that most transsexuals are not sex workers.

The fact is that numerous studies place the number of transsexuals in sex work at between 30 and 50% and the same studies acknowledge they have woefully undercounted the true numbers of sex workers.

And while there is a percentage of transsexuals who are profesisonals and in supportive loving relationships and living in the mainstream. The facts borne out in the studys are that most transsexuals earn less than $20,000 a year as of 2004 with over 36% earning less than $10,000. And only 8% earning over $60,000.

And yeah, since this is a site for transsexual sex workers and "porn stars" and the guys who love them, there probably is a higher percentage of the "wrong kind" of people here.

To expand on "downblow and Caleigh's" posts I agree that most guys who go to clubs would love to have a TS for a GF or "wife." The median income in San Diego is $64,000 a year http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Diego_County and the average house is nearly $600,000 (Feb/2005). It takes an MINIMUM income of $116,000 to buy a $500,000 house. So even TWO TS's, each earning the median wage, after paying taxes, can't afford a house priced 20% under the median.

And the fact is that many younger TS's, those without professional degrees, who didn't transition on the job for a major corporation, those without maybe completing high school because their families threw them into the street at 16, are unable to get ANY kind of job. While there are inroads being made, discrimination in employment is rampant and only a handfull of states even provide legal protection. Heck in 41 states we can even be refused lodging in a hotel and there isn't a damm thing we can do about it.

So please, when you people tell sex workers to get out of the business and "go find a job" so to speak PLEASE provide a solution that is actually viable - beyond working the midnight shift cleaning toilets at Burger King or being a live in health aide.

The thing you have to understand about Mega (what up Megs!) is he's kind of an enigma. I believe that the majority of transexual women in America where I live, and other developed first world countries, are not in the porn industry. They often are well educated, work jobs, date men, sometimes have srs and have their legal status changed to female and even marry men and adopt children, etc.. and stats show that most transexual ladies in first world countries are not in the porn industry.

Some transexual ladies are just in the porn industry or escort industry for awhile, and then go on to something else, some other job. Or they get married to a guy. Or whatever. They find other things to do.

Before I transitioned from male to female, when I was a femme gay man as a teenager, I was an escort, a submissive femme gay man with long blonde hair, who wore makeup, and had pierced ears, and who sometimes dressed as a lady. With the help of modern science, I was transformed from a scrawny plain gay boy into a beautiful, shapely, ultra-feminine woman. It is wonderful. I love being a lady.
