Ok I am soooooooooooooo livid right now!

Someone hacked into my Myspace page and changed the email adress and password so I can't log in!

Worst part is- MySpace has not even responded.

I know the hacker listed his/her email address as AllanahStarrTS@hotmail.com

So I am wondering if this was some sort of stunt.

Do you not mean "some sort of cunt."?

How could they hack in?

It's a problem that apparently is happening a lot now.

Worms are attacking menu bars, and all this crap.

Its getting crazy but the site goes into some detail about it.

Nonetheless, it happened and I know another girl it happened to.

OoOoOoOo No ... Myspace has been a mess lately. I was watching the news the other day and there seems to be a bug spreading on MYSPACE, Thats the reason why alot of people's pages have been hacked. I know Jeffree Star and Tila Tequila's pages were hacked and erased before but somehow Tom got there pages and friends back up.

If you get your page back, DO NOT except some comments cause some contain the bug. Most are obvious especially the ones that contains links and things. I had it on my page and my page got all blank it was weird.

Myspace has THE worst security.

The best thing to do? Do not click on any links from people, even people you trust, unless you are positive it's from them.

Its a worm, that uses a bug in Quicktime. Just visiting a myspace profile with video can affect your myspace homepage. The worm puts a new menubar onto it. If you click on this bogus bar on any page, you will either be sent to a porno site, or you will get a page that looks like an official myspace login page, prompting you to re-enter your information. When you do that, they can use it to wreak all kinds of havoc, by stealing your friends list and spamming them in your name, or worse, as happened to Alannah, where they now have her account under their control. Don't click on any strange menubars. Run your mouse over them and look in the lower left corner which will show you what you would be clicking on. Don't click if the URL shows anything other than myspace.com links or addressesl. If you getn an unexpected myspace login page, take a look at the address bar, to be sure you aren't on a fake site. If you have a strange web bar on your page, you will need to remove the code and also have any friends who have that menu bar remove it from their page, or else remove them from your friends list, becaue it can apparently cross infect across sites. Sadly, it appears the worm was created in an ill advised attempt to increase traffic to a porno site and was hijacked for more insidious purposes.

Myspace is a waste of time. Get over it."Son cosas de la vida." as Burroughs would say.

so you used and microsoft product which got hacked and your upset and surprised.

Quicktime is an Apple product. And the worm can attack anyone's Myspace page, not just Windows users'.

Hasn't anyone seen those Mac commercials where the PC "crashes"..lol funny ads But i switched to a Mac years ago and been virus free...crash free. Worth the extra $$ Myspace IS a great place to meet new friends and have them install identity theft worms...

you can read about the flaw here.

http://www.tuaw.com/2006/12/06/myspace-blames-apple-and-quicktime-for-hacked-accounts/

Like an early poster said and hate to say it but if you are gonna have a site on myspace or any popular site like that get a mac or don't be mad when (and it will) be hacked. But be happy it isn't or shouldn't have cc numbers or ss numbers. Always assume that a site like that is gonna get hacked and you will lose info. I am not wanting to start a Mac vs PC war. Please always assume the worst no matter what operating sysem. Keep your guard up and don't click or download something you think might be bad. Sorry to hear that Ms. Starr it sucks when stuff like that happens. Hopefully you get it back soon.

It looks like you were the victim of a cross-site scripting attacking. Any site that allows users to embed QT, Flash, Java, or JavaScript in their messages is vulnerable to this type of attack. When you visit a page that is infected (can be a private message to you, or a public page that contains user posts), the exploit redirects you do a login that looks exactly like the real thing. Your name and password are then captured.

In this case I do not think you were hit with the QT exploit that is going around. That worm does not steal accounts, it uses compromised myspace accounts to replicate itself and promote porn sites to myspace'ers.

Most likely someone crafted a XSS exploit (or just d/l'ed some examples from a crackz site) and sent it to you.

Keep complaining to myspace and yahoo (since they created a yahoo account using your name). Play up the identity theft angle and they are more likely to respond...

Also, the QT worm affects both Mac & Windows machines.
