where to download avatars

if you go into your user profile, scroll to the bottom to the Avatar section, and you'll see a 'Select Avatar from gallery' option where you can select some. some of us, maybe most, use avatars of pics we've come across on the net and just link to that pic in the Avatar section to set it as ours.
