I know this is a touchy subject but here it is...

I was going over the thread about the HIV outburst in the porn industry from a couple of years ago. A question that occured to me was the following: why doesn't something similar--i.e. an alert of some sort--occur when someone in the "escorting" business tests positive?

I remember seeing posts from providers saying "I know of HIV-positive girls in the business but I can't name them." On the one hand I understand the solidarity and camaraderie. You can't start ratting on your friends and your 'own people'. On the other, my humanist self wants to believe that people care about the welfare of others and would try to do something about it, and may be they would reveal the truth in order to protect this group of people in which we are all members, one way or another.

Anyway, I am bringing up the above as topics of discussion, as they got me concerned recently due to the passing of a couple of providers (I am not even sure if HIV was the cause to be honest) and I just wanted to share my thoughts and questions.

We have had this discussion time and time again. Every person you sleep with girl, guy, ts, escort, from the club, partner, etccc you should always think they do have something and be protected SIMPLE.

I am guilty of making the comment about "knowing" many girls who are HIV positive and still working HOWEVER I have mixed emotions on the subject especially lately. One its NOT my place and Im not going to be the SAINT that tries to change the escort comminity by becoming the person that is hated for "outing" fellow escorts. But then theres the side of me that says ITS NONE OF MY BUSINESS and if a guy is swallowing and asking for bareback sex than by outing a few ts isnt going to change or keep him from going to another then another then another thats why you should ALWAYS protect yourself.

Guys listen its like this if you really care than DO something about it, go get yourself tested and have your paperwork and DEMAND that you expect the same from providers you see, I know I always keep a current (within) 30 days AIDS< Ghonneria, and chlymadia test present with me..........I also require that EVERy guy and girl that does a scene for my company as does Joanna JEt requires testing whether bareback or NOT.........If I know a girl, guy, or ts is positive than all involved sign a consent form that they know.........

There are many things we as a community not just the ts community could do to start making people responsible NOT only providers, pornstars but also directors and YOU the Johns..............

Guys wakeup, not only are ts dying of this disease but so are genetic females, males, gay men ETCCC it has NO label.

I can't agree more on this one...

Personally I made an appointment for a long overdue physical and I am going to ask for a full-on std test as it's been almost a year since my last one.

How often do you guys (I mean "johns") get tested?

OK, let me give you another "ethical" question... If someone you care for (let's say a brother) were to call a provider for an evening, and let's say you knew that the provider was hiv+, would you still not say anything, even if you knew that he always uses protection?

There is a place in Los Angeles called AIM where adult entertainers are tested before they do a movie, most film companies require you to use this service before u work for them, all the major ones especially. I recently found out about this a few months ago before I did a movie for Joey Silvera.
Anyway I came up with an idea, I think someone should start this same type of service for escorts. Men who hire escorts should require them to have an updated AIM-type report every six months. And with out the report sheet, dont see the provider.
With Aim they test you for all stds including HIV, and require u to see them on sc\heduled appts. and before u do a fil u must have an updated AIM proofile.
I feel like if something like this was set up for escorts then it would cut down the spread of HIV and all these questions guys have about girls, health and what not.
Of course there will always be the occasional guy who doesnt care or is in a rush and wont care rather the girl has an AIM-type report or not, but overall I feel that this would help the community alot.

If you are having safe sex I would say you are in really really good shape and shouldn't worry... just get an annual HIV test and your fine...

And if your test comes back positive ... then what? A little late then isn't it??

Condoms break, condoms come off, cuts on fingers ... in mouths etc etc ... there are many ways to contract HIV (remote they may be) even if playing safe .... playing safe only reduces the risk ... it does not eliminate it completely.

Anyone into this "hobby" needs to realize that one simple fact.

Guys, we need to be realists, the fact is that if more girls get tested & show the results to clients it will only lead to more pressure from clients to have bareback sex and other unsafe practices. Yes, I am shocked how many idiots out there are willing to have bareback sex with someone who has hundreds and of partners per year but we know that they are out there.

There isn't a law saying that guys have to use escorts, persons who can't take responsibility for themselves really shouldn't play in this playground.

I for one,will not put the responsibility to create world peace & end mans inhumanity to man on a girl who is just trying to pay rent with her ass.
