With the help of your unparalleled research skills, I do recall a PM from Peejaye, one of maybe two I’ve gotten the entire time I’ve been here. IIRC the message was along the lines of him not liking you guys much more than you like him. The only kind of PM I’d be likely to reply to on here though, would be one from someone I know, or one that might end with me getting laid. So Peejaye and my friendship never got off the ground.

There’s nothing stopping Peejaye from jumping on here and expressing himself so my assumption, if I were you, would be that your abuse triumphed over his abuse. In much the same way that I assume I’ve triumphed over Stavros because he refuses to reply to me directly anymore.

I think your view of the risks is a bit outdated. Lots of tourists go to Columbia these days. I haven't been there, but I've been to a few other South American countries. Obviously you need to be more careful than at home, but I've never had a problem.

Do you speak Spanish or Portuguese (for Brazil)? Just curious how hard it is to get around with just English. I don't speak either language and unfortunately have never been to South America.

I understand just enough Spanish to get by, and people in areas with tourists often know a bit of English. Don't know much Portuguese (surprisingly, knowing Spanish doesn't help much), but I went to Brasil on a tour. That might be your best option if you are unsure. This Australian company is pretty good https://www.intrepidtravel.com/au Their tours are relatively untouristy so you get the best of both worlds.
