I had the great fortune of meeting her in the early 90's at her place near the SF Opera. She was a spectacular and generous lover, and was also thoughful and intellectually gifted. We met in the aftermath of the Rodney King riots and she gave me an incisive analysis of those horrific times from an African American and trans perspective. Her insights still inform my analysis of the continuing twin horrors of police brutality against Blacks and Black violence against Trans Blacks. Goodbye Coco, rest in peace.
