Maybe then we would not be mourning the murders of Brandon Teena or Gwen Araujo. Violence against the transgendered community has continued at intolerable levels even as transsexuals pervade public consciousness. The Internet has brought awareness but not acceptance of transsexuals.
Though the social position of the transsexual remains precarious, in other respects the internet heralded boon times for trannies and their admirers.
