My adverts have always had selfie pictures. I have always believed that unprofessional pictures that haven't been played with (no photoshop) gives a more honest and realistic impression.

A lot of my clients have told me about booking other girls and when arriving they look nothing like pictures and being very disapointed. Dont get me wrong, I dont always look fab, especially if you saw me 1st thing in the morning especially when I have crashed out with a full face of makeup but I believe in being as honest as possible about who I am and what I do and dont do during a booking.

However, with the majority of other girls having professional pictures, should I invest and get myself a photo shoot?

What do you guys prefer ?

I don't do the escort thing but I will say selfies today are just as honest as professional shoots. With all the filters, angle manipulation and high quality cameras on smart phones, you still won't know what you're getting. Even videos can be filtered to make one look better than they actually do. The only way to know how they really look is to FaceTime, unless they have filters on there too

A good professional photographer can make someone look better than they actually are but most selfies are pretty awful IMHO. I would suggest asking a friend, or give a discount to a client, to take some pictures of you with either a digital camera or a good cell phone camera. Pay attention to where the light is coming from and also what is in the background. If a picture doesn't look good, delete it and try again and again until you get some pics that you think flatter you.

My point is, do you prefer the total honesty of a poor selfie or the maybe dishonesty of great professional picture.

A poor selfie does not convey total honesty. It's pretty hard to take a half way decent selfie. In most cases you will look worse than you actually are.

As photographer myself, the answer is obvious here.
Here's what MANY "selfies" don't take into account (but we see them all the time):

- Dirty mirrors!
- Dirty bathrooms!
- Bathroom sinks unorganized mess!
- Dirty bedrooms!
- Clothes all of the place in a dirty bedroom

And there you go!

Utter garbage, it just take a little thought and effort. Decent selfies beat unrealistic over photoshopped pro pics hands down.

Agreed. In any event, the cameras on high-end smartphones can embarrass the high-end dSLRs of not too long ago, so quality isn't the issue ... ;)

Addendum:
You can either look like an expensive and exotic Ferrari that only the elite drive or you can look like a Hyundai that everyone drives....

Any experienced photographer knows that it's all about lens and lighting.... not the camera.....

If the photographer is good enough,
There's nothing dishonest about it..........

Now if you want to debate honesty/dishonesty, then we can talk about make-up with before and after looks....And you can use genetic women for this...

A good professional photographer will show off the client in the best light, without being unrealistic. Using a pro also makes sense if you have a number of easily identifiable tattoos or other features that you want removed before publishing online as they should make a better job of it. The fact that they have been removed should then be made clear on the profile. Generally a mix of pro and amateur pics are best, but if I had to choose one over the other, it would be the amateur pics every time.

I totally agree. I get my foundation delivered from the local builders yard.

Sorry hunny, I make fun of everything.

I do understand your point of view. Yes I put makeup on, yes it makes a huge difference. When a client knocks on my door, my aim is that I am the same person in front of them as I am in one of my adverts. The normal response that I get is "you are better looking than your adverts", which makes me happy but it could be a bit of smoothness said by guys. I dont know.

Anyway, thank you for your input and once again sorry if my humour has been offensive x x x

I'm not from Toronto, Canada but I have visited there many times because of their large number of TS escorts. 3 of the top rated escorts from TO routinely several times a year have professional photos taken and most of them are stunning. As I said, they are the most popular and well reviewed girls so professional photos work for them. Check out Lucy, Lola and Zara on shemalecanada dot com.

I prefer the realism of the snapshot aesthetic. Hate those photos where they’ve photoshopped it so much the skin looks synthetic. I like a gritty documentary style which includes the selfie genre.

So, because pro pics appear to work for 3 escorts (no actual evidence that those pics have anything to do with their success), you assume they will automatically work for every escort?...:shrug

Why would anyone take photographic advice from someone who uses a passport pic as their avatar?...:crazy:crazy:dead:

I use selfies, I also invariably hear from guys that I'm better looking in person than in pics. I also link my Snapchat, which is all candid shots, to my adverts so potential clients can see I'm the same girl from the ad.
But having photos taken is a business expense, and there are questions you need to ask yourself before you decide whether or not to commit to going all out, because it's not just photos, it's a number of things to consider.

Where do you plan to work from? How much are you planning to charge? How many clients do you realistically want to see.

If you plan to charge top of the range for your area, and to set up a mill seeing many, many clients per week, then you should probably have photos taken regularly, have a professionally built website set up, pay for adverts on some of the better sites, and host from an upscale hotel or nice apartment in a safe and private location.

If you are charging middle of the range, and working from your residence, and not planning to see more than 3-5 clients per week, then your business expenses would be better spent on things like some tasteful adverts, regular STI testing, decent lingerie, etc.

Some girls had professional pics taken years ago, and they still use them even though they no longer look anything like those photos. I use current and frequently updated selfies, but then I also charge about the minimum for a reputable provider, and I only see a limited number of clients.

Someone mentioned some Toronto girls that use pro photos and keep them updated: Well the average cost of an encounter with a reputable girl in Toronto is $300-500, so if they can command those prices then they should be investing in pro photos, a professionally built website, paid advertising on the best sites, etc.

A mixture of both never hurts.

like jericho says a mix is probably the best.
though avoid the problems of both styles of photos. the professional ones - don't overdo the photoshopping, the selfies don't use the ones that are badly composed or feature out of focus and camera shake images.

Actually I think I agree with you both. I am often told that I look a lot better in the flesh than my pictures (it could just be smoothie bullshit) so maybe a professional photoshoot could bring out my best. I do love my selfies because I love the total honesty. No filter, no photoshop and the spontaneous (I feel good tonight) I need a picture.

I have a long list of guys who are begging to do my photos, I just need one to do the pictures that I want and not to do the pictures that they want. I had a photoshoot done 4 years ago and he focused on my ladycock, I think he was getting off on it.

Sounds like he needs to learn a LOT about photography then....and to be respectful toward him, I'll leave it at that....

Sometimes selfies look better then professional pics vice versa ....... I mean the pic should be the best no matter how its taken. People are just crazy about selfies these days so selfies are in popularity 😃
