And how many bank tellers were unemployed during the last 50 years? I believe the ATM was one of the first robots to replace human labor.

Actually that machine was strictly a Cash dispenser,making deposits and transferring funds was not available from those machines.
The Docuteller built by the Docutel corporation of Dallas Texas a subsidiary of Recognition equipment was the first automatic teller machine and was announced to the public in about 1969.my Father was the director of engineering.
It actually didn't get into widespread use until banks decided they could charge a fee for thier use.
The Docuteller machine design was later sold to Pitney Bowes of postage meter fame.
