The new mustang is nice. My fave car it the Chyrsler 300C. That car is the pimp car of the future.

Coolest cars:

'71 Hemi Cuda

'68 GTO (rag top)

'68 Camaro

Superbird (just because, has anyone ever really seen one of those in real life?)

'68 Charger

(Ya know, 1968 was a good year for cars)

Currently, one car I think is pretty cool is the Chrysler Crossfire. I actually had a shot at winning one of those and I blew it.

That sucked.

My ultimate dream car: Mad Max's modified Australian Mustang, all beat up with the oil drums sticking out the back, the full package. Probably the most bad-ass car of all time.

Okej.. amasing cars but useless on curvy slipery roads...
Okey I know the Porsche can bee a little hard to handle in this situations... but its something you can learn

you Americans are wery god to built things four a high speed right forward.. like chalenger and oiltankers.. but try to do a fast right- left - right move wery fast whit this things
Okey I know the Porsche can bee a little hard to handle in this situations... but its something you can learn

Sorry, Sport, but some us raised on neck snapping American muscle cars see many imports as nothing more than wound up toasters, and not very much bigger than toasters also. Did it ever occur to you that to another, handling might not be another's thing, but brut power is?
Hondo might be a Mopar guy, but yours truly is all Ford. I just left Ebay with the following examples ( I once owned a Mach-1 with a 428CJ by the way) :

karizma

what power? my car pushes nearly 300 horse out of an inline 6.. bmw doesnt need a 6 liter v8 for that. american grunt and muscle is great, but whats the point of having all that power when my toaster will burn you to a crisp around a racetrack? i have a standard z4. the //M version of my car runs quarter miles in the 12's, bone stock. it would tear your corvettes, saleens, and chevelles to shreds in any respects. american cars are only as good as their resale values. ( half ass )

What's the "half ass" remark about? Was that directed at me?

I would love to see your inline 6 pitted against a late 70s HIPO Z-28 Camero or Boss Mustang on a super speedway, or for that matter, durability. You'll keep up at first, but those small block V8s would outlast your inline six. Imports also have a tremendous weight advantage. I'd love to see your car seat four as the Mustang and Camero did, and then see what your inline six would do on the track or around curves. You have your thing, and I have mine.

By the way, the "run of the mill" Mustang I once owned is running about 50 to 60 grand as equipped from the factory.

In-line six, maybe currently. But it's still a pussy engine.

I've heard a Max Wedge in a built to the balls Charger start up, and my feet vibrated off the ground. Literally.

That's a block.

Since I'm an aftermarket engine tuner it's all about the engines to me. I like going fast in a straight line, and I don't do much curvy road racing. Mustang's and cars like that are great for me, because I love a little drag racing. I'll take some photos on my newest toy Mustang when it's all set up and done. I'm setting it up with a prototype twin setup pretty soon, then well see how fast that baby goes.

karizma
09-24-2006, 05:04 AM
a pussy engine, eh? that's okay.

i don't need my feet to vibrate to be impressed with a car.
an M6 , 760 li, m5, or c55 amg would once again, tear a "built up" charger to shreds, and do it without giving the driver a headache. don't compare my engine with cars that have big body v8's. what can an american engine offer in the v6 variety? can you name one american car that runs a 13 second quarter mile with a v6? i think not. did i mention the M5 cranks 500 hp?

anyways,
'reel girls 4 for me'
i respect your taste and opinion. a stock z4 3.0i tops out at 155 mph, and mine is at 162. i'm not really sure how your old school camaros would fare against that. as far as seating 4 people go, my z4 isnt even in the same era, nor the same body style as your mustangs or camaro. if u want to compare those against some german engineering, take them on against an //M3. or perhaps a new 335 i. if you wish, an Audi s4.
in any case, ure right, we all look for different things in cars. i've always been a sucker for bmw's and audis. maybe my generation just doesn't appreciate the old school muscle cars like yours does , but in any case, if youre a sucker for brute power, a silky inline 6 or bi turbo v6 probably isn't what youre interested in anyways. your taste appeals to a different market than mine does. if you dig the v8 rumble, more power to you , ure not alone in that obsession, hence the insane amounts of corvettes, vipers, camaro SS's, and chevelle's there have been around. i'm not alone in mine either, hence the M3's, s4's, m5's, and 3 series we see everywhere. Anyways, at the end of the day i guess its just important that you love what you drive.
take it easy.

I'm impressed if your car runs 12's. But I got an american TRUCK that runs 11's with an inline 6. It's a Twin Turbo driven 5.9L Cummins pushing that baby. The thing weighs 8000lbs, and it would still beat that little thing.......... Of course I'm pushing 600HP and 1250 LB-Ft of Torque.

karizma
09-24-2006, 05:08 AM
600 hp? ouch! impressive.
i dont mind that you have a second or two on me..you've got twice the horsepower, more than twice the torque! i bet if you put that pedal to the floors ure out of gas in 10 minutes! i cant afford that, im still in college!!

Hey it's all good. Thats mostly from my job anyways. I do Diesel performance almost exclusively. If you wanted to see something crazy you should see my companies little race truck. When they put the drugs to it it makes just over 900HP and 1800 Ft-Lbs of torque. They race that on in 4 wheel drive. It's pretty fast but what I love is it's 60' time. This thing is power braked to over 30 lbs in 4 wheel drive, and then mashed to the floor when they let off. This thing will send the blood to the back of your head when all 4 hook up. 60' in WELL under 1.5

Why so much HP?
I drive an Opel Calibra Turbo 4x4 with 350 HP... itīs only a inline 4 with two litres :D :D
Thatīs enough for 280 km/h or 175 mph...
Left side on the Autobahn, all you see is my backlights :D :D

Well I'm not really a car bloke myself... I believe in "two wheels better" . But if I had to buy a car, it would definitely be a Caterham, one of the last great British sports cars. Here go a few pics for those of you who don't know this lovely machine. When I have time to fiddle around with my other computer, I'll post some pics of my motorbike...
