The movie makes no attempt to say that Dill is actually in transition and the scene in question is the reveal where Dill reveals that he is just a crossdresser. Even when it comes up later, they always reference that Jody liked to pretend. Then Fergus forces Dill to cut his hair and dress as a man for "safety's sake".

Boy Meets Girl is a good movie but though it obviously is about a gender identity struggle, at is core, it is really about a boy coming to terms with with girl he is meant to be with. It is not that deep. The middle scene between Ricky and Francesca is actually extremely fitting for how I view the difference in my attraction to cis- and transgender women so the movie does have additional meaning to me.

It has been some time since I saw Princesa but I don't think she shows full frontal. This movie is a bit more heartbreaking in terms of the story it tells since a transwoman is abused and fails at turning away from a life of prostitution.

i agree that the crying game was a seminal moment (pun intended) in movie history and i can see the attraction to Dill. Once someone brings up Stargate, where Ra was clearly a boy, and the movie even says the alien took host in a BOY, it is a wholly different story.

Mascara, directed by Henry Pachard in 1982. Eva Robin's or (incorrectly) Robins is full-frontal naked, and a welcome sight it is too! She made her first film with Dario Argento, Tenebrae, and after Mascara went on to make several more films -fully clothed- and thus made the transition from soft-porn photo shoots to 'legitimate' (horrible word) actress. The reason Fergus wanted Dil to cut her hair was to protect her from the IRA that was hunting him down.
When Dil finally undressed in front of Fergus, it was to reveal her whole self, not to show she was a CD.
