View Full Version : Deceptive Site Warning

When I went to log in via Firefox I got this warning:

Deceptive Site!

This web page at www.hungangels.com has been reported as a deceptive site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Deceptive sites are designed to trick you into doing something dangerous, like installing software, or revealing your personal information, like passwords, phone numbers or credit cards.

Entering any information on this web page may result in identity theft or other fraud.

Any comments from the site ownership regarding this?

For the last couple of days, I get a warning that there is a deceptive site ahead that make trick you into doing something dangerous like installing software or revealing personal information, when I try to access this site on Chrome. Has anyone else had this problem? It will not allow you to get through to HA.

I've had something similar. Didn't get the warning, but instead was redirected to "filestore72.info" website, which then tried to get me to download software to "clean" my laptop.

Scanned my laptop (Norton and Malwarebytes) and came up with nothing, so did a bit of digging last night and reported it, as it appears to be an issue which affects vBulletin sites.

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forum/vbulletin-4/vbulletin-4-questions-problems-and-troubleshooting/426213-vbulletin-4-2-0-pl3-hacked-redirect-to-filestore72-info

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=306733

Now I see a warning saying "this site may be hacked" if I google "hungangels"

Thanks for the info everyone.

Unfortunately myself and our server tech are unable to replicate this redirection which is making it hard to solve!

We've made some changes now, so please let us know if you're still being redirected, and only redirected! If all you're seeing is the Malware Warning, that's fine, that will hang around until Google re-crawl the site and mark it as clean!

The deceptive site warning is going to stick around until Google clear it - the request has been placed with them.

One of the issues we have is that we can't replicate this problem - the problem being the redirection to filestore72.info.

When testing we can see the alert but we haven't been able to replicate a single instance of the site being redirected to this mysterious filestore72.info domain.

I will run some searches of the files on the server to see if I can find any base64 encoded content and any other signs of malicious uploads.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone is still getting redirected to this filestore72.info site from this point in time onwards as we have applied a full upgrade which appears to have replaced pretty much all of the programs which make up the forum.

I got redirected just the one time using IE. I haven't got that again since. I just tried IE, Chrome and Firefox and all I get is the warning with Chrome. Other then that, no issues now.

No problems this morning (25th of November @ 11.15m) using Firefox. Yesterday I was puzzled because I could access the home page and every other product except the Forum, which did not make sense of the 'deceptive site' warning, so I just used another browser, Safari placing no barriers to access. Someone out there maybe doesn't like the Forum or was just trying it on to see if their nasty software works.

Google have said they've removed the warning but it might take a few hours to come into affect.

I did locate a few files which shouldn't have been there so perhaps deleting these has fixed the issue and with a bit of luck the upgrade will prevent it happening again, until the next software bug is found in a few months time.

Thanks for your help !

this is a common thing on many sites, shocked it took this long for it to affect HA, interestingly it only affected the forums not the main site

No more problems for me (touch wood). The filestore redirect only happened when doing a Google search for hungangels, then clicking forum link and that appears to be OK now. Using a bookmark or typing the web address to access the site directly didn't give any issues. Doesn't make a lot of sense (to me), but seems to be consistent with the previous reports of this occurrence which I posted links to.

Well, five minutes ago I just tried logging in with my Chrome browser and to my dismay I was successful. I guess the problem has been resolved. I got to give it to the techs guys or women (no discrimination here) that is some nice problem solving.

Ps

I still wondering what caused the problem though. Was your site hacked or maybe the traffic to your server was somehow redirected. Well I guess I/we never know....

What is the recommended solution? Turning Avast's shields off and back on is getting quite tedious ...

We better get used to it. All the ISP's are hyper sensitive to any type of 'bad' sites that might harbour any type of malicious software. Google, MS, Firefox, your own ISP, They are all going to start freaking at every turn and try to keep us from our porn sites. Assholes.

No offence to HA but the internet is a cesspool. And I'm not just talking about porn sites. Half the shit on yahoo is garbage. careful what you click on there.

I have two machines. A smut machine that I can blow away because i expect to get it fucked up... and a 'work' machine that I keep backed up, and only use online for very select things. It's the only way... cause if you whore around on the internet long enough... you will catch something.

Clicked ignored, but still keeps warning me, a dozen times now.

Been using firefox, looks like its in several browsers. Reported to google my Google Safe Browsing report.

Told them to pull their head out of their asses, that the site has always been safe.

Who in the fuck reported this site as deceptive?

I think these things work through automatic reporting by your browser (unless you turn this feature off), rather than someone choosing to report a problem https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/privacy/whitepaper.html?hl=en-US#malware. Even if there was just one infected file or link posted somewhere on this site, site blocking may be triggered if people keep clicking on it.

This seems to be related to a "poisoned URL" which forces a redirect to a forced download of potential malware. As others have reported, clicking on the "Escort Reviews" link redirects to "filestore72.info". This is a common tactic used by propagators of Mac malware to try to trick people into downloading and installing stuff with names like MacCleaner, iCleaner etc. I don't know what, if any, effect this would have for a Windows user. It would be interesting to know if this experience is cross-platform or not.

From my experience, it's only the Google link that is poisoned; it should be possible to head to the top level domain URL from a bookmark or desktop shortcut. If not, you may have to turn off warnings in your browsers prefs/security settings

As a Windows (Firefox and Opera browsers) and an Android (Chrome) user, that's what I've experienced as well, except the redirect happened from any google generated "hungangels" link.

Hi,

Has anyone seen this redirect happen recently like in the last couple of days ? I know the warning appeared again yesterday.

Also, has anyone seen the redirect on Windows or is it just targeting Macs ?

Google have given us the 'all clear' today after we made a small change but I suspect that there might be more than just this one incident here.

Thanks

Yeah, I haven't been in for two days because Avast said the page has a virus.

We don't pay for the site, but we certainly won't be clicking on any ads in it if we get warnings it can't be trusted. Anyway, it seems to be fixed again, so good ... until next time. It doesn't seem like reporting an issue with the site not functioning should be a problem.
